We, the Dark Elves of the Undercaves, approve of the Sax Shepherd Jorogumo Jewelry/Accessory/Shoe set.  It is an attractive homage to all things Spider Queen-y, including our Goddess Denise.  Who strangely prefers business attire instead of nipple covers and jewelry as lingerie, but never mind that.  (Inanna Staff from Tekeli-li)

The one quibble, we the great Dark Elves of the Undercaves, do not like is the fact that this set is currently a Gacha set. There are both common huds with few colors and a Rare Hud with more colors. There are a total of 6 metal/shoe color options and 12 jewel options.  The shoes are for the Slink High feet and you'll use the footshape that comes with the feet.  Any great Dark Elf of the Undercaves would want the Rare HUD.  Because after all, as that pale shiny-faced redheaded fashionista says: How many colors do you need?  All of them.

The ensemble has the following pieces:  Crown, Choker,  Anklets Left and Right, Spider Anklets left and right, Armbands left and right, Belly gem, Belt, Nipple covers, Bracelet, Earrings, Ring, and Shoes.

Those Nipple Covers are Maitreya body compatible, you might have to adjust manually a touch if  you don't use a Maitreya body.  (One of the reasons I don't have a Maitreya body is that I'd have to go skin shopping.....again.)  That is the Pink Fuel Drow skin in Night.  Hair is Truth Thalia.


As I said, the stilettos are for the Slink High feet and are modern in style.  Your traditional supermodel-y stiletto sandal...if said supermodel was a Dark Elf.  The funny thing is, most traditional depictions of dark elves does make them look a touch supermodel-y.  In fact, IIRC Dark Elven Priestesses of Eilistraee (of the Dungeons and Dragons Forgotten Realms milieu) wear even LESS than this.

And just so you know, there will be no peace with you Surface-Worlders while that pale Shiny-faced red-haired fashionista named CC lives. She told our Matron Mother of Menace, Tiffany, that she should put on a cover up while shopping.  Yes, Our Goddess Denise said the same thing, but no surface-dweller will comment on our tendency to wear as little as possible!  It's a Dark Elf thing, that you Surface-worlders do not understand.  We will rule you all, and bring representative democracy!  Matriarchal Representative Democracy mind you, we're still The Great Dark Elves of the Undercaves.

 FYI, "jorogumo" is a japanese term for what in western terms would be described as spider-queens.  Half spider, half women.  Practically every video game or tabletop RPG has them.  Llolth, the Spider-Demon Queen Goddess of the Drow in Dungeons and Dragons, Cydaea of Diablo 3, The Spider-witch in Ghostbusters the Video Game are all of the same mythic cloth that inspired this set.

Erratic Trisha and Sax Shepherd Aphrodite Jewelry and Shoes.

I wanted to show off the Erratic Trisha dress and the Sax Shepherd Aphrodite jewelry and shoes.  I decided to wear the white version of the Trisha and bring Pink Fuel skin wearing, "Lutefisk" me up to bat.  I was playing around with windlight, graphics settings and whatnot on location.  Didn't quite get the lighting right, probably needed a bit of warmth in the lighting, even if the hair shadows turned out well.  Yes, yes, these two pictures are gaussed and glowed, glamour blog style.

These two pictures were taken at one of the pavilion builds the Boudoir girls have for sale.

Now for normal pictures where you can actually get a better look at the clothing. Trisha is a short supermodel-y party dress with a folded-ruffle bodice.  I liked the various colors enough to fatpack it, it's the sort of dress I'll get enough use out of to justify that, and the 13 color fatpack was only 995L$ when the singles are 295L$ each.  With that much differential, I just threw my L$ at the fatpack.

These pictures came across as a sort of "Daenerys from Game of Thrones crossed with 90's supermodel Claudia Schiffer".  Partly because I chose this Truth Thalia hair, which also comes with a crown, which I am not wearing.

Here you can see the headpiece, choker and big mesh earrings of the Aphrodite jewelry set.  I set it to pearl for these pictures but it has many more jewel options and four metals.  It also has drop earrings if you don't want these big glamour-girl ones.  The Decadence set with all the options is 1999L$.  Even shopaholic me, said "ouch" when I clicked the pay button for it, but it's a versatile evening set which will serve you well along side SSD's Spirit of Giving sets.

Bracelet options for both left and right wrists and a cocktail ring, all with the same jewel and metal options.   You'll notice the left and right bracelets are slightly  different in style as well so they're not super matchy, you can wear them both if you want.

And these are the Aphrodite evening sandal, same jewel options as the jewelry and many shoe colors...at least in the WDP (whole damn pack).  That pack is 1999L$.   That's 9 base shoe colors, 4 metal colors and plenty of jewel colors for a nice elegant evening sandal that will serve  those duties well alongside the SSD Mata Hari's. Yes, I know, I cringed at paying 1999L$ for a jewelry set but don't complain about throwing thousands of L$ at shoes.   But I have a shoe thing, runs in the family.  You can also get singles or Bridal, Decadence or basic packs.   But really, it's shoes, you want all the colors.  As I say, "How many colors do I need of the shoes?"  "All Of Them".  All The Shoes Are Belong To Us.

They're for the Slink High feet, so that's probably the equivalent of a RL 140mm heel at least.  Supermodel shoes in RL.  Of course, in "tekki-wiki" SL, Supermodel is YOU.  Ha, I kill me.

But if you're really smart, and pay close attention to the vendors, what you'll do is get the COMBINED shoe/jewelry Deluxe WDP pack, which will only cost you 2999L$, a much better deal.  If only I had seen that vendor for that deal before I bought the separate packs.  I facepalmed.

Mutresse Nina coat and Vafla booties, with Lutefisk

It was a warm day after a short and bitter cold snap, and Lutefisk decided to go window shopping.  Even though it was fall, Lutefisk was in one of her "pink moods".  She looked good in pink.  She decided to wear a pink and white coat over a white top and pink miniskirt with very cute pink booties.  She felt very pink, and very cute. It was a brisk day, but to a girl like her used to yard high snowdrifts and 20 below 0 degrees Fahrenheit temperatures back in Minnesnowta, it might as well be tropical.

But that didn't mean she wouldn't partake of hot chocolate.  She'd never turn down that, oh gosh no.

Sitting on a bench and people watching as the leaves fell was always fun, ja.

As soon as I saw the Mutresse Nina, available at Fameshed, mentioned somewhere, my first thought was.  "Oh, I like that, the underskirt is short, but that is a very cute urban-fashionista look.  The booties are cute too, I'd better check it out."  And then I saw it on a hostess at the Blarney Stone in Dublin.  And so I did check it out, and so I bought, as it was foretold in Scrolls of Fashionista Wisdom.

Yes, the skirt is short, but really, it's really freaking adorable when worn as an outfit AND the jacket is flared enough that you CAN wear it with pants/jeans when you disable the skirt option.  Yes, you can wear it without the skirt and top parts, it's right in the HUD, which as is usual for Mutresse has multiple color options.   My one complaint is about the color choices....I wish there were even more besides the plethora of options in the HUD. (I want a darker brown/blue/purple/green.  Maybe a winter white/cream, and a lavender)   You can change the color of the buttons, top trip, coat, shirt and skirt all separately.  There are schoolgirl plaid options for the skirt as well.

This "Harlow" hair is from Chemistry, a new brand for me. Saw this on a friend, Rod Urquan-Mayako (a Demon-girl of my acquaintance) in blonde and liked it.  Don't worry, I have it my color.  I had to tint the brown to get it close though, none of the reds are dark enough.   Yes, this is Pink Fuel Harley skin, with the pink gloss and shimmer eyeshadow options and extra blush, and Redgrave lashes.

And here are the Vafla ankle booties, you can change the colors of various parts of them in the HUD. I wouldn't mind having a bootie like this in RL, in fact, this bootie has just earned Mutresse entry into the CC list. One caveat, sole color is for the "entire" sole, including the heel tip.  So you can't have a black "side" of sole, with a red bottom of sole, and black heel tip.  Also it doesn't come in enough colors. I know, I know, I always say they need more colors. (Needs more browns, maybe a camel and cream too.)  Otherwise, this is a capsule wardrobe bootie that will serve you well.

Just to show everyone a more "normal" for me look, here it is in black and red, I added some Izzie's heart tights to "fall it up" a bit.  I think I look a bit Blair Waldorf in Gossip Girl-ish this way.

SG Bonnie mesh dress, On The Floor at DeMortesville

DeMortesville, is a kink-friendly Modern Dark Fantasy RP community founded by a friend of mine.  She had moved the community from it's previous location, to a new location some regions southeast of one of my favorite social venues that we both frequent.  I decided to take a look around again.  It's a goodly sized community build, taking up most of the region.  The Linden Railroad runs right through the middle of it, and there is a pedestrian walkway and narrow road overpasses over the LRR.

I don't do serious RP, so I'm not seriously involved with any RP communities, but I do like wandering and seeing nice builds like DeMortesville.  DeMortesville always had one of my other favorite sapphic friendly social venue builds in the Drunken Clam.  To tell the truth, I prefer the Clam build to the Duchess build appearance wise, but I think it's more of the atmosphere than anything else.  The Clam is a touch more upscale looking, while the Duchess is more blue collar.  There are other "venue" type builds set up for various RP scenarios, a sort of a rustic sailor dive, a modern style club, a "nice dressy" restaurant, a classic diner, biergarten, and a tea parlour.   I can't forget the church, and bakery either.  I had been tempted to set up residence at the old location, but as I said, I don't really do RP so it's not well suited for me.

While visiting the downstairs of the Clam I noticed changes in the stage/runway part of the build (It's much more plush looking)  and noticed the "video wall" which had screen captures from J' Lo's "on the floor" video, where she wears some sexy gold ensembles.  (The song itself is a cover of the 1989 song Lambada by Kaoma)

And I had this nice gold mesh cocktail dress from SG (Saritha Gabardini) , which I have in 5 colors.   I should get the other colors too, it's only L$70.  You can't beat prices like that.  It may be a template, I don't know for sure, but I don't care, because the texturing is very nice. As far as I know, this creator is Marketplace only.


Dale! (Pronounced "Dah-lay", it means "Bring it on")

The dress has a hemline that is short, but not TOO short, lower thigh.  My favorite length for a dress like this.  As I've mentioned before, I do believe.  Shoes are the Mata Hari sandals from Sax Shepherd.

You'll notice the seaming and the strappy "cap" sleeve.  Making it a sort of cross between an off the shoulder dress and a cap sleeve.  Nicely done.  This is the Truth "Grande" glamour/party hair, the version with both sides draped forward, but it still leaves plenty of foof in back.

Had to take the hair off to get a good picture of the back.  Wear an updo or front-draped hair to show off the back. you can also see the sleeves better.

Here's the front, where you can see it's a bandage style in the shape of it.  Just simply a great dress to have.

And  here it is in black, Hucci "Jacmel's" with the black.  This is Truth London hair.  It's actually more similar to the hair J' Lo has in the video.

As I said, great cocktail dress well worth the L$70.  What are you waiting for, buy!

Ran into Barely Texan...put on a Kunglers dress.

Ran into Barely Texan, the male fashionista who had guested on Harper Beresford's blog, and noted DJ, at a social venue.   Just for fun I wore an dress and hair that Harper had blogged and took a picture next to him.  I then realized I had never blogged this dress myself.

This simply pretty and classic dress is the "Ariana" mesh sleeveless sheath from Kunglers.  Note that the hemline is slightly below the knee, some don't prefer that hemline, though it's one of my preferred hemlines along side mid-knee and slightly above the knee. This a great desk-to-dinner dress, perfect for standing beside an AFK hipster-ish male fashionista with oversized glasses,  and having him make me look good.  Which is his job, making whatever lady fashionista he's standing near look good, not the other way around.  That would go against the natural order of all things Fashionista.  Then there would be chaos, we can't have that.

The hair is "Alicia" from Wasabi pills.  I am wearing it with my usual Belleza "Betty" skin, and Celoe's "Zoe" pumps.

Jewelry is the Bijou Othello set from Sax Shepherd, which is one of my go-to sets and I have the Bijou in all the colors.  With this set you have your choice of two earring colors, black or white and it comes with matinee and princess necklaces.  I'm wearing the matinee length in the photo.

That u.f.o Luna dress you've seen on everyone

You remember that Grecian myth themed C88 a couple of rounds back, and that u.f.o (ur.favorite.one) Luna dress?  Well  like everyone else on the grid, Ihave it, in the long and short versions.  It is such a pretty ethereal goddessy thing, to me it looks more like a negligee than a dress and I've worn it as such.  You have to put up with gaussed and glowed blonde me since I wanted to go all angelic looking.

Hair is Truth Dasha, a simply pretty half-up/down girl-next-door hair.  Skin is my usual Belleza Betty, believe it or not, with blonde brows.  Eyes from IKON, in Floe.  Jewelry is the Sax Shepherd Pearl version of the Spirit of Giving set.  (Yes I have them all)

The shoes are the Opium mules from  Lassitude and Ennui and are a "Must Fatpack" since they're easily the best and prettiest "boudoir" mule for wearing with lingerie in SL.  And yes, they come both with and without marabou pompom

The Dateless Elf, with a curtsey to The Blogging Elf.

Tis' spring, when the thoughts of Fashionista moi sometimes turn to things Elven-y or sylvan-y, and Blogging Elf-y, but for me it still includes the color black.  I was thinking of doing an elf-y post, but wanted to do it in the style of the following question:

"What if the pretty redhead in the office next door was an elf?"

"There's this redheaded Elf woman, at work, she's very pretty, and she's Sapphic. You'd like her."

"Oh? What does she do?"

"She's the eye-candy receptionist, but Elves don't really have to work, they're all rich due to their long-term investments.  They're the epitome of The Beautiful Elite. She works for fun."

"She's probably stuck up and snooty and is probably already partnered with some unearthly beautiful glowy Elf supermodel, or something."

"Naah, she's sweet and non-snooty.   She complains about not having had a date since the McKinley administration back in 1898."

"What?  She's over a century old?  Why hasn't she had a date?"

"She says other elves think she's too obsessed with human fashion and likes shoes way too much.  She says she's much too quirky and not 'ethereal' enough.  Also she's not Elven aristocracy, most of those flit around in diaphanous gowns in their Treehouse Eld-mansions in gated communities."

"She sounds like she's out of my league."

"You should give her a call, I have her number."

"How did you get her number?"

"She gave it to me when she helped me with a move."

"Okay, Ill call."

She'd just got home from work, when she got the call.  Her date had got her number from that nice fellow from work she'd helped with a move to a new apartment.  A Date... after 100 years.  And the call was from one of those interesting human women, who were quite unlike those prissy jerks back home in the Eldemar Gardens Community.  Huzzah, as those lovable steampunkers would say.

 Now...what was she going to wear.  Her date had mentioned wanting to see her wings.  She didn't have the heart to tell her that elves didn't actually have wings, that some elves magicked them up and wore them as a fashion accessory.  It's not that she blamed her date, most humans didn't actually know that much about the differences between Elves and Fae.

She decided on a simple black cocktail dress...and went ahead and magicked up some wings.  After some thought, she put on a pair of sandals with wings.  If some butterfly-winged Fae flitting about, thought she was appropriating their fluttery adorableness, fie on them.  She'd wear what she wanted... after centuries of conservative hoity-toity Elven aristocracy saying that elven women needed to be all glowy, medieval-y and diadem-y....she'd had enough.  Glowy sparkly magickalness was all well and good, but everything in moderation.  Besides, human fashion was fun because it changed.

She decided to meet her date at one of her favorite women-centric social venues, called the [e bar].  She sat at the bar, nervously wringing her fingers.  It had been a long time since she'd done anything in the romantic vein.

Lelutka Hair: Kate

I'm not for sure I've mentioned liking the Duchess of Cambridge's style on my blog before, but I'm a fan.  In her duties, she tends towards the classic, simple and pretty, skirts around the knee, moderately high but not too high heeled shoes, neutral makeup and long layered hair.  And when she's off duty, she can rock the jeans and ballet flats.  She almost always looks "nice".

As an aside, she has a brain too, graduated from St. Andrews with a Art History degree...with honors mind you.

And how I love her hair.   Thanks be to Lelutka for creating a Kate-ish fluffily wavy-whirly hair.

Normally I'm not a big fan of Lelutka hair because it's "too big" and kind of "there are too many extensions in it for fullness" look.  But this I like.  This is the Jessica color, I had to tint it to get it close to my "proper color".  It's a nice hair, worth demo-ing if you like long layered "girl next door pretty" hair.

Harper Ganesvoort's 2014 Oscar Contest

Harper Ganesvoort has done an Oscar photo contest for the past, what is it, 5  years?  Anyway I've been hemming and hawing on the photos (and looking at RL Oscar red carpet photos) for a month trying to decide on the look.  I finally settled on this:

The full length picture is my entry into the contest. Gown is an oldie but goodie, Azul Dailey in Champagne. Skin is Belleza Betty Pale 6 with the Shyla/Betty Pale lips 8 over it. Lashes are Redgrave 'Classy'. Hair is Elikatira Found 8 tinted 128/65/0. Jewelry is Sax Shepherd Designs 'Spirit of Giving' pearl edition. Eyes are IKON Lucid Series in Moor, XS size. Background/Posestand is the oOo Studio: Premiere.

Originally I was going to use Elikatira "Early" hair which was "Anne Hathaway Oscar Look 2013-ish", (you can see that look on my flickr) but my good friend LaDonna said the look reminded her of Jennifer Lawrence's 2013 look.  When she said that, I said, "d'oh" and switched to "Found" which worked better.

The lighting turned out fairly good, I think.  Modified one of AnaLu's windlight presets to get the look I wanted.  Not perfect, but close enough.   You'll notice the shadows and depth of field effect more in the close-up below.

oOo Studio by Olaenka Chesnokov on Marketplace

Liv Glam Laurent, the sort of dress I like in RL.

I discovered Liv Glam sometime back after seeing one of their things on an acquaintance.  Most of Liv-glam's styles seem to have a sort of high end department store look to them, which I like for the most part.  To be honest, their stuff can be hit or miss, and some of the texturing is of questionable style on some of their stuff, or could use a little work...but some of it IS worth picking up.  Besides, they have demos.

I picked up this classic "Laurent" wrap dress some months back and was saving a blog post for fall.  It's a simple versatile v-neck mesh dress with a color change hud.  This solid version is only available at the store, but there is also a print version available.  In my opinion, some of the solid colors are questionable choices in a dress like this, but there's enough colors that it does look good in to be worth a look:


Here it is in classic black, desk to dinner, though it is a little cleavagey for desk in RL, but we all know that in SL we tend to show more cleavage...even me.  Shoes are from Elikatira, the Move's.  Skin is my usual Belleza Betty

 Just to show you how classic the dress is, here's a similar RL one from Talbots!  I tend to be classic, so I like to peruse Talbots for Internet Window Shopping.  And yes, I based the styling of my picture on the way the Talbot's dress was styled, just to show that classic style works well in SL...and RL.

And here I have used a dark red color.  The hair I used was Wasabi Pills Jamie, which is fairly close, a touch more controlled than the RL hair of the model, which I think suits the dress better.  Jewellery is Drop Stone Pendant and earrings in Gold by Sax Shepherd.  Bag is the "Lourdes" from Alexandra Sautereau via Marketplace

Which I styled like this styling of the dress. Close, but not quite.  The RL dress comes in several colors and it does come in plus and petite sizes and is $109.  It is unlined though.

"Flirt"ing Pink Fueled Venus

Yes, I do actually shop now and then in SL.  Sometimes I might even actually blog.  This is more summer style, it's still fairly warm here in the midwest still.  Still warm enough for cute little dresses and slides.

Have a gander.  This is the Miel Peasant Dress, Mesh in muted pastels and neutrals with a color change HUD.  I think it's cute, and youthful, and the lace him is flirty.

Some of you are thinking:  "Lutefisk again?  No blur this time...wait..that's not a Belleza skin and that's one of the Truth Light Blondes the swedish-y one in the new Venus hair with the new vending system... and is that skin a..... Pink Fuel Harley?  zOMG CC!"

Yes, yes it is,  but in Vanilla, not Peach.  (This shade is a touch darker than I want but the next lighter shade is too light)  She made me buy them!   She, being Gogo of Juicybomb.  Well she didn't make me, she doesn't know me from Torley.  But she knows where to get cute stuff and she was showing off this youthful pretty hair, which is currently at Fameshed and is L$1000 for the all color pack.  I've also been wondering what Pink Fuel Harley would look like on me and I had tried the Demo and it was fine, so I gave into the desire and picked up a pack.  Nice price, L$1500.

Yes, it makes me look younger than I normally do, maybe 19-20.  The skin meets my standards and is "Acceptable and CC approved.", though I probably won't wear it often.  The fatpack I got came with plenty of shadow, lid, lippie and gloss options.


 Just so you know I haven't been totally brainwashed by cute baby cheeked blondes with REALLY cute stuff in their blog pictures,  here's me in a "normal for me" color.    However, I can't name the color because they aren't named OR numbered....at all.  Which is a serious flaw in the new system.  I'm a big of fan of "if it's not broke, don't mess with it.", so I actually preferred the actual color names, though it is/was easier to tell which were lighter and darker with the number system.  But this new system does neither, sigh. The hairbases still use the old number system.  I hope Truth fixes it.

That Pink Fuel skin comes with a very nice shiny red gloss, reminds me of the old L'Oreal candy apple red silicone one.   I also picked up Gogo's Juicy Liz shape,  but I didn't like the nose in profile at all, though I did like the body shape.  Didn't see a demo version, I must have overlooked it.


The real reason I'm doing this post is because I'm a child of the 70's/80's.  So that means there's this little part of me that has a weakness for BIG hair, and Candies slides.

Yeah, Sax Shepherd feeds my Squee-powered shoegasm again, though I wish I'd have had these in May.  So it's a Candies style two strap slide for the Slink Medium feet with the traditional Candies style wooden heel/sole with a plethora of HUD options in strap color, sole color insole color, and even Rivet color...really, there are 3 options just for the rivets.

While you can buy some of the colors/options in singles... just get the Whole Damn Pack, really.  Yes the WDP is L$2750, but since the singles are L$399, you save money by just getting the WDP.  You know you want to, and you NEED a plethora of options for your Candies.  Besides, you don't all the options available in the WDP are available in the singles.  I can't imagine how many different singles versions there would be if that was the case... a LOT.   I think these are inspired by the early 80's versions, though my memory is not as good as it was.

All black!  But you can mix and match ANY option, so if you wanted pink with black sole and red footbed....you could do it.

Red gingham, red wood!  There are more gingham options

Leopard print and there are even more prints.  I'm having a squee moment just looking at these right now.

And trust me I'm going to wear the red option with black leather jeans and cleavage-y top, just like Sandy on Grease. "Tell me about it, baby!"

Now if Sax does some fall shoes or boots...I can Squee even more.
