White Armory Andraste, Elf-y style

Imagine if you will, a redhead obsessed fashionista visiting the page of the Blogging Elf Arica Storaro to see what lovely fantasy, roleplay and non-fantasy items repurposed for fantasy roleplay items she is wearing.  Because after all, she is an Adorable Redheaded Elf who Shops... a LOT.

Then imagine you see something like this recreation of a non-redheaded Elf, which while very pretty, is NOT redheaded and your whole worldview of Adorable Redheaded Elves who Shop collapses.

The CC as a Blonde Elf Archer

It made the CC cry......Not really, of course. I'm joking.  The Blogging Elf looks good as a blonde too, has been blonde for months, and as everyone knows even redhead obsessed moi goes blonde now and then.  But there is just ....something... about a redheaded elf, and if the Blogging Elf ever goes back to red.....I will SQUEE.  Until then... well I have ears, and a bow and on rare ocassions do fantasy looks.

The CC as a proper redheaded elf-y archer.

In actual truth this blog post was inspired by seeing the White Armory Andraste set and thinking it was "Blogging Elf-y".  Though with that name it's obviously "Dragon Age-y", meaning Dragon Age the game. (No, I don't have Dragon Age: Inquisition yet)  Anyway, I can't remember where I saw it, but I finally figured out it was from White Armory (which is familiar to me) and picked it up.   My guess is that it's based on a template, since it looks somewhat familiar, and I know that White Armory has other template based items.  That said, they DO skillfully texture their template items, so even if you DO see the same templates somewhere else, you might want to pick up the White Armory versions as well.

Then I decided I needed some armor/bracers of some kind and boots.  As not-coincidence would have it, White Armory puts styling info in their packaging so you can easily find what they accessorized it with in the displays.  Which is a GREAT idea with cross-marketing potential that more designers should do.

In this case it was the Lassitude & Ennui Thylacine boots, and the Iktharus Bracers/Cuffs/Collar in Brimstone from Plastik.  I've been a L&E fan for years, and know Jackal Ennui does good work so ran right over to look at the boots and pick them up.   The Iktharus armor set comes in a LOT more colors, but I liked the Brimstone the best and it goes best with the Andraste

The Bow and Quiver are the PFC Black Sorrow, which I've shown before.  I'm rather liking this picture of me relaxing against a large tree root.  Peaceful and Sylvan.

The hair is Wasabi Pills Sandy, a hair that The Blogging Elf  wore in March reminded me of it.  Eyes are the IKON Deadshine eyes in Moor. Skin is my usual Belleza Betty.  Ears are from Siyu Suen's Illusions.

Poet's Heart Wayfarer Tunic and Solitude gown at Fashion for Life

Poet's Heart is a store I only know of in passing, IIRC via The Blogging Elf.  I was up at the Blogger platform (which is basically "press central" at FFL) and saw someone else wearing this Wayfarer tunic set.  I believe my elf-loving Squee reached the soprano register.  Basically it's a mesh tunic and legwarmers (the pants are texture).  The small size fit well on me, but the fitted mesh variants did not work well with my Slink hands.  Also available is the staff and headpiece.

Yesterday, a friend of mine was looking for a Frozen style cosplay gown for a mutual blonde friend of ours. We found a few on marketplace....but today Poet's Heart had this Solitude gown in this "Arctic" color in the FFL blogger items. Elsa eat your heart out.  This is fairly well fitting mesh and it comes in more colors.

The Dateless Elf, with a curtsey to The Blogging Elf.

Tis' spring, when the thoughts of Fashionista moi sometimes turn to things Elven-y or sylvan-y, and Blogging Elf-y, but for me it still includes the color black.  I was thinking of doing an elf-y post, but wanted to do it in the style of the following question:

"What if the pretty redhead in the office next door was an elf?"

"There's this redheaded Elf woman, at work, she's very pretty, and she's Sapphic. You'd like her."

"Oh? What does she do?"

"She's the eye-candy receptionist, but Elves don't really have to work, they're all rich due to their long-term investments.  They're the epitome of The Beautiful Elite. She works for fun."

"She's probably stuck up and snooty and is probably already partnered with some unearthly beautiful glowy Elf supermodel, or something."

"Naah, she's sweet and non-snooty.   She complains about not having had a date since the McKinley administration back in 1898."

"What?  She's over a century old?  Why hasn't she had a date?"

"She says other elves think she's too obsessed with human fashion and likes shoes way too much.  She says she's much too quirky and not 'ethereal' enough.  Also she's not Elven aristocracy, most of those flit around in diaphanous gowns in their Treehouse Eld-mansions in gated communities."

"She sounds like she's out of my league."

"You should give her a call, I have her number."

"How did you get her number?"

"She gave it to me when she helped me with a move."

"Okay, Ill call."

She'd just got home from work, when she got the call.  Her date had got her number from that nice fellow from work she'd helped with a move to a new apartment.  A Date... after 100 years.  And the call was from one of those interesting human women, who were quite unlike those prissy jerks back home in the Eldemar Gardens Community.  Huzzah, as those lovable steampunkers would say.

Now...what was she going to wear.  Her date had mentioned wanting to see her wings.  She didn't have the heart to tell her that elves didn't actually have wings, that some elves magicked them up and wore them as a fashion accessory.  It's not that she blamed her date, most humans didn't actually know that much about the differences between Elves and Fae.

She decided on a simple black cocktail dress...and went ahead and magicked up some wings.  After some thought, she put on a pair of sandals with wings.  If some butterfly-winged Fae flitting about, thought she was appropriating their fluttery adorableness, fie on them.  She'd wear what she wanted... after centuries of conservative hoity-toity Elven aristocracy saying that elven women needed to be all glowy, medieval-y and diadem-y....she'd had enough.  Glowy sparkly magickalness was all well and good, but everything in moderation.  Besides, human fashion was fun because it changed.

She decided to meet her date at one of her favorite women-centric social venues, called the [e bar].  She sat at the bar, nervously wringing her fingers.  It had been a long time since she'd done anything in the romantic vein.
