I wanted to show off the Erratic Trisha dress and the Sax Shepherd Aphrodite jewelry and shoes. I decided to wear the white version of the Trisha and bring Pink Fuel skin wearing, "Lutefisk" me up to bat. I was playing around with windlight, graphics settings and whatnot on location. Didn't quite get the lighting right, probably needed a bit of warmth in the lighting, even if the hair shadows turned out well. Yes, yes, these two pictures are gaussed and glowed, glamour blog style.
These two pictures were taken at one of the pavilion builds the Boudoir girls have for sale.
Now for normal pictures where you can actually get a better look at the clothing. Trisha is a short supermodel-y party dress with a folded-ruffle bodice. I liked the various colors enough to fatpack it, it's the sort of dress I'll get enough use out of to justify that, and the 13 color fatpack was only 995L$ when the singles are 295L$ each. With that much differential, I just threw my L$ at the fatpack.
These pictures came across as a sort of "Daenerys from Game of Thrones crossed with 90's supermodel Claudia Schiffer". Partly because I chose this Truth Thalia hair, which also comes with a crown, which I am not wearing.
Here you can see the headpiece, choker and big mesh earrings of the Aphrodite jewelry set. I set it to pearl for these pictures but it has many more jewel options and four metals. It also has drop earrings if you don't want these big glamour-girl ones. The Decadence set with all the options is 1999L$. Even shopaholic me, said "ouch" when I clicked the pay button for it, but it's a versatile evening set which will serve you well along side SSD's Spirit of Giving sets.
Bracelet options for both left and right wrists and a cocktail ring, all with the same jewel and metal options. You'll notice the left and right bracelets are slightly different in style as well so they're not super matchy, you can wear them both if you want.
And these are the Aphrodite evening sandal, same jewel options as the jewelry and many shoe colors...at least in the WDP (whole damn pack). That pack is 1999L$. That's 9 base shoe colors, 4 metal colors and plenty of jewel colors for a nice elegant evening sandal that will serve those duties well alongside the SSD Mata Hari's. Yes, I know, I cringed at paying 1999L$ for a jewelry set but don't complain about throwing thousands of L$ at shoes. But I have a shoe thing, runs in the family. You can also get singles or Bridal, Decadence or basic packs. But really, it's shoes, you want all the colors. As I say, "How many colors do I need of the shoes?" "All Of Them". All The Shoes Are Belong To Us.
They're for the Slink High feet, so that's probably the equivalent of a RL 140mm heel at least. Supermodel shoes in RL. Of course, in "tekki-wiki" SL, Supermodel is YOU. Ha, I kill me.
But if you're really smart, and pay close attention to the vendors, what you'll do is get the COMBINED shoe/jewelry Deluxe WDP pack, which will only cost you 2999L$, a much better deal. If only I had seen that vendor for that deal before I bought the separate packs. I facepalmed.

Better Red, than Rezzed. My "Fake Boy Toy" Barely, bought me a dress.
I was talking to my "Fake Boy Toy", Barely Texan, yesterday. No we aren't really a couple, we're a "Fake Couple"! Every SL Fashionista needs a "Fake Boy Toy" or "Fake Husband" to tell us we look pretty or to do photo shoots with.
I was doing my usual abuse of him, telling him how I didn't like his hipster hair (which was the truth), and fake-complaining he told Harper about that Lindaline disk dress before me.
"She was online.", he said to me. Well, perhaps she was, but I know where he saw that dress on Ziki Questi! The Chamber! I was then complaining about how my L$ balance taunted me because I didn't have L$350 at that time to get the dress. I was planning on getting it as a lingerie cover up, and mentioned how the Buy L$ button taunts me. Then my "Fake Boy Toy" bought it for me, which is what he should be doing for the Fashionistas who Taunt him. Buying us stuff, not us buying him stuff. There are rules!
Not that it made me like his hipster hair he was wearing with his nice Steve McQueen-ish outfit. I told him he needed the right car for that look, and a lady friend with the right outfit...maybe something Ali MacGraw would wear.
I promised him I'd take pictures of it. He also saw me in it...when I wasn't wearing anything underneath it. I spoil my "Fake Boy Toy" so much, but only by looking good. Then he has to flatter me, that's his job. Well, and flatter Harper too. He really needs to do that more. And flatter Berry, I told him to do that too. Really, he just needs to tell all the Fashionistas how pretty we are, that's his purpose.
Better Red, than Rezzed, I always say. Really, it's a thing I say referencing my "obsession" with red hair. The disks are actually coins, which you can see in the close up. The dress comes with a HUD that lets you change the color (including using RGB to choose one), shinyness levels, link color, etc etc. A nice dress that would work well worn over lingerie/swimwear. I can imagine someone using this dress for a "Bo Derek lounging near the resort pool" look. Yes, that dates me, I'm old. Hair is Truth Vixen, shoes are Hucci Jacmel's, skin is my usual Belleza. Lingerie by Luxuria.
There are multiple sizes available, that's the small worn with my standard S-size smaller boobeh shape, so you should be able to find a size that works for you. Sizes for mesh boobehs are included.
This is what he's wearing today, a sort of "James Franco with oversized glasses" look.
He really should get a blog.

That u.f.o Luna dress you've seen on everyone
You remember that Grecian myth themed C88 a couple of rounds back, and that u.f.o (ur.favorite.one) Luna dress? Well like everyone else on the grid, Ihave it, in the long and short versions. It is such a pretty ethereal goddessy thing, to me it looks more like a negligee than a dress and I've worn it as such. You have to put up with gaussed and glowed blonde me since I wanted to go all angelic looking.
Hair is Truth Dasha, a simply pretty half-up/down girl-next-door hair. Skin is my usual Belleza Betty, believe it or not, with blonde brows. Eyes from IKON, in Floe. Jewelry is the Sax Shepherd Pearl version of the Spirit of Giving set. (Yes I have them all)
The shoes are the Opium mules from Lassitude and Ennui and are a "Must Fatpack" since they're easily the best and prettiest "boudoir" mule for wearing with lingerie in SL. And yes, they come both with and without marabou pompom

Even.flow Adrift boho dress at Fashion for Life
Fashion for Life officially opened yesterday, I popped in for a bit today. But I'd recommend holding off on visiting for when the event is less busy (try late nights and early mornings than prime-time US), that will help reduce lag times. But please do go, and support the Relay for Life.
I'm not usually very boho, but the moment I put this Adrift dress from even.flow on, I said, "This is the sort of boho dress even I can love." I'm going to tell Salome about it too, she adores boho, if she doesn't have it already. Now I'm not sure, it may be a template, but this dress is very well done. Fatpack comes with 4 dress color combinations with belt color options. Yes, you can have it all black if you want it.
It's nicely rigged and textured, the Medium fits me perfectly, moves fairly well too so it "looks" like a boho dress should when you're walking. This dress fits my definition of a "capsule wardrobe staple". Pair it with flat sandals, for a pretty summer look. (There's some nicely done flat sandals at FFL that I will be showing off shortly)

Moolala at Fashion for Life
Fashion for Life started up what I think of as the press-centric pre-event today. The regions are open for the Blogger-press, and the designers continue to feverishly work on the regions, their vendors and adding more goodies. It cannot be said enough, that this year EVERY sale contributes to the Relay because EVERY vendor is an RFL vendor. So you don't have to make a choice between buying a cute dress from an RFL vendor and one that wasn't like one might in years past, it's ALL good this year.
One of the first blogger pack's I received was from a designer named
No, I will not be talking about the obviously gacha'd Truth Sakura hair and Ingenue Jolie shoes in this post, that is another long story.
There were other things, but I really want to show off this Rylee jumpsuit ...that strikes me as 70's barbecue party wear. At first I wasn't fond of the ruffle rigging, they're static, but then I decided, that it didn't bother me as much as I thought it would. That's because it's just a "happy" outfit. Comes in black too, but I like this version because it's just so happy. The mesh fits well, like the Milla above.

One of the first blogger pack's I received was from a designer named
"мαηđу мσσ" (amandasue.hallison) with a
store named Moolala that I hadn't heard of before. Being a former cow-dancer, the store name made me giggle (the mascot is a cow) so I took a look inside and found this Milla Scrunch dress. At first I thought it wasn't "me" but I changed my hair and decided it was a cute little dress well worth showing off since this sort of thing can be a versatile little beachy party dress. The fit is good, the texturing is good, and it is well worth demo-ing once FFL is open. No, I will not be talking about the obviously gacha'd Truth Sakura hair and Ingenue Jolie shoes in this post, that is another long story.

Deja Vu Dresses, or one of the downsides of mesh templates.
We all know what the concept of Deja Vu is don't we, from Wikipedia:
Déjà vu, (/ˌdeɪʒɑː ˈvuː/) from French, literally "already seen", is the phenomenon of having the strong sensation that an event or experience currently being experienced has been experienced in the past, whether it has actually happened or not.
Let me show you two dresses that gave me that experience, though they are not the only dresses that have given me "Deja Vu" I kept the hair (Wasabi Pills "Claire") and shoes (Hucci "Glynco") minimalistic, and didn't wear jewellery to show off the dresses without distraction
This one is the Roksanda Bodycon dress from Liv-Glam
This one is the Suede draped dress from Cynful.
While the textures are different it's obvious they're from the same sourced template. These two are not the only versions of this template I've seen, it's everywhere. It's a nice dress, but not everyone needs to be making their own version of it.
Let me be blunt. Designers, if you don't do your own mesh, try to use templates that aren't being used by every "Art School Girl" with competent photoshop texture skills out there. Becuase otherwise, we get dozens of variants of the same dress to sort through. Not only that, even though there's a glut of this "slap some nice textures on templates" stuff, it doesn't seem to keep some designers from charging premium prices. If there's a dozen versions of a template dress..you might not want to charge something like L$500 for a single color, perhaps not even L$300.
[UPDATE} For the edification of readers I decided to add the actual prices of each of the dresses:
The Liv-Glam version is L$ 375, and includes six color variants. There is also a floral print-pattern version that also has six variants included for L$375
The Cynful version is L$265 for each individual color.
There's nothing inherently wrong with using templates....the problem is when the same ones are used by a large amount of people, then we get a glut of sameness and lookalikes.

Layniewear Audrey
Layne Link of Layniewear loves CC! She saw my wish list and came up with a simple and pretty square necked sheath named Audrey. it's what I wanted, and I actually prefer the more fitted silhouette than the shift silhouette of dress I showed. It's something I can dress down for business

or dress up for evening. All it takes is a change of makeup, hairstyle, jewellery and shoes.

I love. And yes it comes in more colors, Thank you Laynie.

House of Zen: Career Woman
House of Zen has a nice sleeveless "career woman" dress for sale. Everyone knows I like tailored things so I picked it up. It's more of a summer dress, being sleeveless. The sort of thing you'd want to wear a jacket with at the boardroom while doing the presentation, but without a jacket back in your workspace. Problem is, it doesn't come with one. I'd LOVE to have a matching jacket.

As you can see, it's knee length and has nice piping at the button placket and waist. However, the collar shading and the hip darts are a just a little bit too defined for my taste. Perhaps a dark grey colour for the shading would have looked less stark. But then again it actually has darting, which is a plus. It comes in other colors but I liked this grey the best. I'll probably pick up the burgundy too, eventually

I paired the dress with my new Stacked pumps from Shiny things, the classic Fleur "Heiress" bag, Maaliyah hair from ETD, and neko ears/tail. I was in a neko mood at the time because lolcats had been mentioned on a message board I frequent. I think neko can look very nice in business wear.
